Established in 1987, Copperfields is a privately owned day nursery nestled in a large detached house near the centre of Eastbourne.

At Copperfields we aim to create a friendly, homely environment for your child with lots of opportunities to learn through play. Our nursery is designed to provide a safe, stimulating environment where every child is treated as an individual. We focus on meeting the unique needs of each child, helping them to make excellent progress and achieve their full potential.

Our friendly and well-qualified staff work in close partnership with parents to deliver a tailored educational programme that supports every child’s development and provide the highest quality care.

Our facilities and hours

Copperfields is open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 51 weeks a year, closing only for bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year.

Our nursery is spread over two levels, with the ground floor housing designated areas for children aged 0-2 years and 2-3 years. Upstairs, there are four playrooms dedicated to children over the age of three.

We also boast a large, secure walled garden, offering an excellent outdoor learning environment where children can explore and play safely.

Our 0–2 years room offers a warm, nurturing start. while our 2–3 years room encourages the children to explore independence in a stimulating space, with the upper nursery building confidence through creative learning, preparing for school. Each room supports development with age-appropriate activities, care, and experienced staff.

At Copperfields, we know that fresh air and outdoor play are essential to a child’s development. Our spacious, securely enclosed garden offers endless opportunities for exploration, discovery, and active learning—rain or shine—encouraging children to connect with nature and extend their curiosity beyond the classroom walls.
